Logbook Servicing

Whenever you purchase a new vehicle, the manufacturer provides you with a warranty that protects you from the cost of parts failures. This warranty is only valid, however if you have your vehicle regularly serviced by a certified mechanic according to the procedure laid out in your vehicle’s logbook.

A lot of people think you have to have your vehicle serviced at the dealer’s workshop, or it will void your warranty. That’s understandable as the dealerships do their best to give you this impression, but it’s actually illegal for the manufacturers to discriminate against you based on your choice of repairer.

Vehicle Inspections

Pre-purchase inspections are a great idea when you’re planning on buying a secondhand car. Even if you trust the seller, there could be issues with the vehicle they are unaware of, so make sure you know exactly what you’re buying, and avoid any nasty surprises, with a pre-purchase inspection.

We would recommend bringing your vehicle in for a pre-trip inspection before you go on a long road trip or camping trip, so you have peace of mind and know you can rely on your vehicle.

Brake Services

Your brakes are the most important safety feature your vehicle has. While other safety systems, like airbags, can only reduce the severity of an accident, your brakes can act preventatively, and the condition of your brakes often means the difference between an accident and an emergency stop.

Your brakes also suffer an incredible amount of wear, routinely bringing over a tonne of metal to a complete stop from high speeds, multiple times a day, using only friction. For this reason we agree with brake manufacturers that you should have your brakes checked at least once a year.

Steering and Suspension Services

Issues with your steering and suspension affect handling and ride comfort, manifesting as issues such as play in the steering wheel, body lean through corners, or vibrations at speed.

Air Conditioning

Your vehicle’s air conditioning system is unique in that it degrades more from disuse than from use. The rubber tubing and seals which make up a lot of the system dry up and crack, allowing the refrigerant gas to leak out and rob your aircon of its cooling power.

Here at Atkins Autoworks, we are ARC certified to fully repair your air conditioning, starting with replacement of condensers and compressors, then swapping out any cracked tubing or seals, and finally recharging your system with refrigerant gas once we’re certain it’s airtight.

EFI Diagnostics

Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) systems deliver fuel to the engine quickly and efficiently, and have drastically improved engine performance and fuel economy since they replaced carburetors in the 1980’s.
